The global construction sector has a poor human rights record. Of the estimated 17.3 million people in forced labour exploitation, a disproportionate share work in construction. In December 2022, in order to raise awareness of the issues, Morningstar Sustainalytics hosted a roundtable on Modern Slavery in the Global Construction Sector, which featured leading voices who shared their experiences of identification and mitigation of risks in key markets, including the US, Europe, and the Middle East. This report offers a summary of the event.
